Kohlmarkt
in Vienna
Portrait
The name means coal market and the street sold charcoal until the court took an interest in the view: it closes the axis on the Hofburg, so what stands on it has been controlled for three centuries. Demel has been at number 14 since 1857 and held the imperial warrant, which it still prints on the boxes.
This is a street, not an entry in the atlas. It resolves upward to the city that holds it.
