Bolivia
Bolivia supplies the atlas with the mountain that financed an empire. Potosí's silver funded Habsburg Spain for two centuries and killed a number of forced labourers that is still argued over; the city sits above four thousand metres and was for a time among the largest in the world. Tiwanaku predates the Inca by a millennium, Sucre keeps the constitutional capital in white colonial stone, and La Paz is the highest seat of government anywhere.
