Cambodia
Cambodia's single entry exists to serve what is beside it. Siem Reap was a village until the French rediscovered Angkor in the 1860s, and it now exists for the temples six kilometres north — Angkor Wat alone covers 160 hectares and was built in the twelfth century for a population served by a hydraulic system that eventually failed, which is the accepted explanation for why the capital was abandoned.
