Czechia
Czechia contributes towns that stopped at a useful moment. Český Krumlov's plan has barely changed since the fourteenth century because the river wraps around it, and its castle holds a 1766 baroque theatre so complete and so fragile that it is performed in only a few times a year, by candlelight. Telč rebuilt its entire square at once after a fire in 1530. Kutná Hora's silver made Bohemian kings among the richest in Europe.
