Myanmar
Myanmar's three entries are three capitals, which is the country's pattern rather than a coincidence. Bagan holds over two thousand surviving brick temples from a kingdom that ended in the thirteenth century; Mandalay was the last royal capital before the British ended the monarchy in 1885; Naypyidaw was built from nothing in the 2000s and its twenty-lane roads carry almost no traffic. Each was made to be a seat of power and only one still is.
