Norway
Norway's entries are shaped by water that does not freeze. The Gulf Stream keeps the coast open above the Arctic Circle, which is why Tromsø has a university and Lofoten has fishing villages on stilts where the cliffs leave a few metres of shelf. Bergen was the Hanseatic League's northern kontor, where German merchants lived under their own law and were forbidden to marry locally.
