Pakistan

Pakistan's two entries are a Mughal city and a planned one. Lahore holds the fort, the Badshahi Mosque and the Shalimar Gardens from the empire's building century, and remains the country's cultural capital by common consent; Islamabad was laid out in the 1960s by a Greek planning firm on a grid of numbered sectors and became the capital in 1967. One grew, one was specified.
