The promenade runs two kilometres along the bay from the Palais des Festivals to the Pointe Croisette, named for a small cross that once stood at its end. The beach below it has been let in licensed concessions since the 1920s, and the Carlton opened the first private beach in Cannes in 1930 — which makes this the rare shore where the clubs predate most of the buildings behind them.
This is a street, not an entry in the atlas. It resolves upward to the city that holds it.
