The main street closes to traffic on weekend afternoons and has done since 1970, when Tokyo invented the hokousha tengoku, the pedestrian paradise, and tried it here first. Wako's clock at the Yon-chome crossing has kept the hour since 1932 and survived the firebombing that took most of what stood around it.
This is a street, not an entry in the atlas. It resolves upward to the city that holds it.
