The spine of the Salamanca quarter, named for the marquis who laid the grid and went bankrupt on it, and now the address of the Spanish houses that survived the twentieth century. It runs a mile and a half north from the Puerta de Alcalá with almost nothing on it that is not a shop.
This is a street, not an entry in the atlas. It resolves upward to the city that holds it.
