Yalıkavak / Bodrum Peninsula

Yalıkavak lived on sponge diving until the 1980s, and Palmarina now takes yachts over a hundred metres on a peninsula where the Turkish and Greek islands interlock so closely that Kos is visible across four kilometres. Bodrum town itself has a Crusader castle built partly from the stones of the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, one of the seven wonders.
