Knightsbridge

The name is older than the money: a bridge over the Westbourne where, by a story first written down in the seventeenth century, two knights fought and killed each other. Harrods opened here in 1849 as a grocer's and the street around it turned into what it is now within two generations, which is fast even by London standards.
