The street was rebuilt in the 1880s in pink terracotta because the Grosvenor estate wanted something that would not go black in London soot, and it did not. Allens the butcher traded here from 1830 and Scott's from 1851, so the food shops predate the fashion by a century and a half.
This is a street, not an entry in the atlas. It resolves upward to the city that holds it.
