Kahala
in Honolulu
Portrait
The quarter east of Diamond Head where Honolulu keeps its money, laid out on former coconut groves and kept low by covenant. It is quieter than Waikiki three miles west by design rather than by accident, which is the usual arrangement wherever a resort city has a residential half.
This is a quarter, not an entry in the atlas. It resolves upward to the city that holds it.
