The Floating Pillars
Nature Gateways
Portrait

Wind and water cut a quartzite plateau into over three thousand pillars up to four hundred metres high, wrapped in cloud most mornings — the landscape that inspired the floating mountains in Avatar, after which one peak was officially renamed. A glass bridge spans the canyon and a lift climbs 326 metres up a cliff face, both of which are either the point or the problem.
