Théoule-sur-Mer
Red Rock and the Bubble House
Portrait
The Estérel massif meets the water here in red porphyry, which is why this end of the Bay of Cannes looks like no other stretch of the coast and why the Romans quarried it for columns. Above the shore stands the Palais Bulles, built between 1975 and 1989 by the Hungarian architect Antti Lovag out of spheres with no straight wall anywhere in it, and owned for thirty years by Pierre Cardin.
