Westerland / Sylt

Property on this island trades higher than anywhere else in the country, and the northern village of Kampen is where that concentrates, thatched roofs and dune paths and no building allowed above them. The island itself is losing sand faster than it makes it, so a million cubic metres are pumped back onto its western beaches most years to keep the shape it is famous for.
