Aqaba holds Jordan's entire sea frontage on the Red Sea's northern tip, where four countries are visible from the beach and the reefs begin a few metres offshore. Dive or snorkel in the morning, and use the town as it functions best — the hinge between Petra, Wadi Rum and the water, all within two hours of each other.
