Vilamoura

Vilamoura was planned from 1966 as a resort built around a thousand-berth marina, the largest in Europe, and the excavation uncovered a Roman villa with mosaics that is now a museum inside the resort. Five golf courses surround it, and the Algarve's cliffs and grottoes at Benagil are half an hour west.
