Between the Pitons

The Pitons rise from the water immediately south of the town, Gros Piton to 771 metres and Petit Piton to 743, two volcanic plugs standing almost vertically out of the Caribbean and inscribed by UNESCO in 2004. Behind them the collapsed crater at Sulphur Springs can be driven into, which the island advertises as a drive-in volcano and which is, geologically, exactly that.
