Wuhan is Wuchang, Hankou and Hanyang combined, at the point where China's longest river meets the Han — a junction that made it the transport hinge of the interior and the place where the 1911 revolution began. It has more university students than almost any city on earth, and the 1957 bridge was the first to cross the Yangtze anywhere.
