Samui exported two million coconuts a month to Bangkok before the first road circled the island in 1973, and the plantations still cover the middle while the beaches carry the resorts. The ring road takes a day, stop at Na Muang waterfall and the fishermen's village at Bophut, and take the boat to Ang Thong marine park for the archipelago as it was.
