Honolulu

Honolulu was the seat of the Hawaiian monarchy until it was overthrown in 1893, and Iolani Palace had electric light before the White House did. Two histories need balancing: the palace and the Bishop Museum in the morning, Waikiki's surf in the afternoon, and Pearl Harbor on a separate day, given the time it deserves.
