Thimphu

Thimphu became Bhutan's capital in 1961 and is often described as the only capital with no traffic lights — one was installed and removed after complaints, and a policeman directs traffic by hand. Bhutan measures Gross National Happiness alongside economic output, requires traditional dress in official settings, and is the only country in the world that is carbon negative.
