Huangshan

Huangshan's granite pillars, twisted pines and sea of clouds became the standard subject of Chinese landscape painting, and the mountain has been climbed by poets and painters for over a thousand years — the pines growing from bare rock are individually named. Sixty thousand stone steps carry the paths, cut by hand, and most visitors sleep on the summit to be there at dawn.
