Delphi sits on a terrace of Parnassus where a priestess answered questions for eight centuries, and the states of Greece built treasuries along the Sacred Way to display their gratitude and outdo each other. The stadium above the theatre is worth the climb before the coaches: from there the whole sanctuary drops away toward a valley of olive trees that runs to the sea.
