Mdina

Mdina was the island's capital for over a thousand years until the Knights moved to Valletta's harbour in 1530, and it has been the Silent City ever since — a fortified hill town of Norman and Baroque palaces where cars are banned and around three hundred residents remain. Walk it after the day trips leave, when the lanes are lit and empty.
