Lahore

Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan all favoured Lahore, and the fort, the Badshahi mosque holding a hundred thousand worshippers and the Shalimar gardens of 1641 stand within a short distance of each other. Jahangir is buried across the river, and the walled city's havelis are being restored street by street after decades of neglect.
