Bratislava

Bratislava is the only capital that borders two countries — Austria is ten kilometres away and Hungary fifteen — and Vienna is close enough that a boat runs between them in seventy-five minutes. It was the coronation city of Hungary for 250 years after the Ottomans took Buda, and eleven kings and eight queens were crowned in St Martin's cathedral.
