Alicante

Santa Bárbara sits on a bare limestone crag directly above the town, one of the largest medieval fortresses in Spain, and the rock face beneath it is read locally as a sleeping man's profile. Along the water runs the Explanada, a promenade laid with something over six million marble tiles in three colours, set in a wave pattern that reads as motion when walked.
