Graves settled here in 1929 on Gertrude Stein's advice and stayed, apart from the war years, until his death in 1985; his house on the Sóller road is a museum with his desk and his printing press. The village is honey-coloured stone on a slope of the Tramuntana, with terraces of olives and a cove twenty minutes down a path.
