Scottsdale

Wright came to the Sonoran desert for his health in 1937 and built Taliesin West from desert rock, canvas and redwood — he taught there each winter for twenty years, and the apprentices slept in tents they designed themselves. Scottsdale grew around the resorts and now has the highest concentration of spas in the United States and about two hundred art galleries.
