The Rebuilt Bridge

The Ottoman bridge of 1566 stood for four hundred and twenty-seven years until it was shelled into the Neretva in 1993; it was rebuilt from the river's own stone and reopened in 2004. Divers have jumped from it since the sixteenth century; walk both banks afterwards, where the reconstruction is complete in some streets and has not started in others.
