Gibraltar

Gibraltar has been British since 1713, and the only land route in crosses the runway — traffic stops when a plane lands. The Rock is honeycombed with fifty kilometres of tunnels dug by the military, more than the length of its roads, and the Barbary macaques on top are the only wild monkey population in Europe.
