The Cham Towers
Lost Cities & RuinsSacred Cities
Gateway town: Hội An
Portrait

The Cham kingdom built these Hindu towers between the fourth and thirteenth centuries from bricks fused with a resin technique nobody has reproduced — no mortar is visible in the joints. American bombing destroyed the largest group in a week of 1969; what stands is partial, overgrown and quiet, and best reached on the first minibus from Hội An.
