Bellagio

Bellagio stands on the promontory where the lake divides into two arms, which gives it water on three sides and a view down both — the reason villas were built here from Roman times. Villa Melzi and Villa Serbelloni have gardens open to the public, and the stepped lanes between them are too narrow for cars.
