Biella
Wool at the Foot of the Alps
Portrait
Biella's mills use soft water from the Alps that takes dye and washes wool without hardness, which is why the finest suiting cloth — Zegna, Loro Piana, Cerruti — comes from a small province at the foot of the mountains. Zegna planted a road of half a million conifers above his mill in the 1930s and opened it to the public.
